A man caused a major train scare after his umbrella was mistaken for a sword. Police stormed the packed train at Deptford station in South-East London after passengers raised the alarm, believing that Ray Brown’s umbrella was a weapon.
But they soon realized that the item belonging to the 22-year-old was harmless, and the train was allowed to continue on its journey on Monday morning.
Mr Brown posted the picture on twitter showing him with his umbrella shortly after the incident

‘I had this umbrella with a handle that looked like a Samurai sword. They (police) got on the train but they didn’t even notice the handle.They went up and down the train about five or six times before they saw it. There were about six of them - they were very professional.’That picture makes me look like I’m about to take over the train, because of the Russian hat and the Samurai sword umbrella.’
