• Most Wanted: N1.3bn up for grabs for information on Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau

The US has hinted that the $23 million bounty placed on the Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, and other members of his consultative council is still subsisting.
It was discovered that Shekau had the highest bounty of $7million (N1,393,350,000), offered by the US State Department’s Rewards for Justice Programme.
The US leadership said the bounty on Shekau would not be withdrawn until they are either killed or captured.
The report by Punch quotes a US government source, as saying: “It is only when the insurgents are dead or captured that the bounty may be withdrawn.

But for now, the bounties on the heads of the insurgents would be paid to whoever volunteers useful information on the whereabouts of the terrorists by the American government.”
