The woman, Danielle Whipple, a 24 year old single mother was arrested for beating her child who flushed their rent money down the toilet because the mum refused to watch TV.
The woman's neighbours reported to the police because they heard the child crying and heard the sound of smacking. When police arrived at the scene, they found Whipple' child, whose gender and age has not been released, with a black eye, a bleeding nose and a red handprint on the face.
Subsequently she was arrested and now faces a charge of felony child abuse.
